About us

Our History

Finally after four years of saying, "we'll get to it over the winter" we did.  Welcome to our slowly growing website.  Things are under construction so please bear with us, and a welcome to our newest beekeeper Henry!

Ottawa Valley Honey is a family farm made up of Michael, Crystal & Henry Kositsin.  We believe in providing you with the best the hive has to offer, and we only sell products that Henry would use himself.

Beekeeping has been in our family for generations.  Back when a family farm had a little bit of everything it was great-grandma Toop who kept the household hives.  One of her ten children, Harry, stuck his head in a hive and never looked back.

Where to visit

Stop by our stand at the Ottawa Farmers' Market every Sunday from 10am to 3pm in the Aberdeen Pavilion at Lansdowne.

We would just like to thank all of our customers who have been buying our honey and products over the years.  You are the reason we do this, and it has been a pleasure getting to know you all.  Looking forward to many more happy chats with you all at market over the years to come.

A big thanks

Yes honeybees are awake all winter, they do not hibernate or go dormant like most cold climate insects.  They form a  cluster for warmth, vibrating their wings to produce heat and eating up honey.
